DNA Cascais

This competition aims to awaken the entrepreneurial spirit among the young by giving them tools to to face the creation of own business as a real possibility in the context of their professional career.

It is aimed at students of educational establishments in Cascais, 9th grade, high school and vocational education. Only young people aged 14 to 23 can participate.

In this competition, students are challenged to create a business project developed for this purpose, a business plan, with the work based on the “Business Model Canvas” tool. In doing so they are led to think about the various aspects related to this area, such as strengths and weaknesses of the business, financing, target audience and the relationship regarding business, communication channels, partners and the necessary resources for the development of the business. Throughout this process, the group of students will be supported by specialized professionals. The selected teams at the more advanced stages will present their idea in 5 minutes. DNA Cascais and the European University will support students and teachers in developing the applications throughout the competition.

They establish, thus, the first contact with the entrepreneurial world, which helps to demystify doubts and shows that entrepreneurship has benefits and must be taken into consideration as an integral part of their professional career.

Students must form into groups of four at most, being guided by a teacher of the school they are in.
