13-05-2011 Entrepreneurial Spirit in Cascais counters crisis
On April 13th, DNA Cascais presented 12 new companies created with its support. The projects involve a total investment of 700 thousand Euro and the creation of 30 immediate jobs. These companies join the other 118 businesses created under the seal of DNA: since its creation in 2006, the Agency contributed to the appearance of 130 business projects in the Municipality of Cascais.
On this occasion, Carlos Carreiras, Mayor of Cascais, pointed out that 'in four and a half years 130 projects were created, and they are generating jobs and wealth not only for the municipality but also for the entrepreneurs that decided to leave their comfort zone and take the risk of creating their own project of happiness. Besides, 372 jobs have already been created. At a time when much is heard about crisis and unemployment, these numbers come as a breath of fresh air and demonstrate that the municipal support to local entrepreneurship, through this Agency, makes every sense. This kind of initiatives will make us counter the crisis.'
